Flower Link Bracelets

Summer is really here, along with the pretty flowers. My new link charm bracelets will let you carry a little of summer with you long after it's over.

I have two sizes large and small. They have all been embellished with flowers, metal, acrylic, and lucite. Some are new and some are vintage but they are all unique one of a kind pieces.

Rhinestones, crystals and metal name tags have also been used.

The bracelets are size 7.25 and close with a fold over clasp.
I will be listing them in my shop thebohemiangypsy.etsy.com. If you see one you like that's not listed or sold, contact me and I'll see what I can do.

Thanks and happy summer and until next time,Peace and Love, The Gypsy

EyeGlasses Cheap!

I had been putting off getting new glasses because the last pair I bought cost me $700.00.
They were well worth it though, all blinged out with rhinestone and all but seriously in this economy ,I couldn't do that again.

Well, I had started wearing an older pair and they broke so I tried to find them online but they no longer made that frame. Oh well the search was on.
I just happened past an eyeglass store and went in. Just as I was leaving out I saw a pair of frames in the window. Marc by Marc Jacobs. Now those were cute. I asked the sales girl how much they would be with my high prescription and to get the thinnest lens. She said the frames were $200, and the thin lenses would be about $300. Well that's over $5oo., with tax, not near $700. ,but close enough.

So with my recent internet search fresh on my mind, I asked her to write down the number of frames on a card for me so I could think on it.
That night, Monday, I went on line to find the frames. I ended up at Framed Direct. It was to late to call and ask questions but first thing Tue. morning I called and talked to a sales person and she assured me on the process. On line I picked my frames, added in my prescription, paid. They even had a sale. Total $300.00 for my Marc byMarc Jacobs frames, my high prescription, and my thin lenses. And the kicker, She told me I would get them in a couple of weeks, but by that Friday I had my glasses! Nicely packaged, nice case. Perfect!

So here is the link, If you need glasses I highly recommend Frames Direct!

Hair Stylist Still Number One

Hi,
I know it's been a while ,well hopefully I'm back. I have been busy trying to create. Today I want to talk on my hairstylist jewelry. It really seems to be a big seller in all of my shops. I have been on the search for hair charms and trying to come up with some new ideas for the line.

Here are a few of my new items. I have a large silver comb necklace that has been embellished with rhinestones and pearls. I also have new a large pair of shears that I embellished with clear crystal rhinestones. These pendants are sure to get you a lot of attention .

Being a hair stylist myself I find I like to have a way to let potential clients know I'm a hair stylist without coming out and saying it first thing. With my jewelry it speaks for you.

I also have Gypsy style charm bracelets which I will be adding soon.

Lonely Christmas

I went to the mall today expecting crowed parking lots and long lines. I was greatly saddened by an almost empty mall.

The most traffic in the whole mall as far as I could tell was a group of girl scouts singing Christmas Carols. They would stop at every section and sing.

So many stores were closed with the empty store windows used to advertise for the stores that were left.

Santa didn't have a line of children waiting to sit on his lap.

I'm thinking maybe this means everyone is just going to give LOVE on Christmas day, that's the best present of all.

I Love You This Much

I love old comic romance books. To celebrate this I've made a new line of hair barrettes. Each barrette depicts a love story from vintage comic romance books.

These barrettes are hard plastic and have a silver clamp on the back. The barrettes are awesome! They are super shiny and all have rhinestone accents.

These barrettes will be available on line at:

Dumpster Diver

Imagine my surprise when I went to take the trash out, to find a man inside of the dumpster going thru the trash. Although I've seen it many times, people going thru the trash looking for cans or whatever, it always takes me aback . Going thru my trash still seems like going thru my personal stuff without my permission.

My first thought was go to another dumpster because I'd be disturbing him(like I'm in the wrong for wanting to throw away my trash) and as I came back I thought , If he can dig thru my garbage, I can take his picture. At first I tried to sneak and take it from afar using my zoom, but as I got closer,he smiled at me so I asked him if he was looking for cans and he said yes and continued to look. He was going thru a bag, moving it to the side and then going through the next one.
He looked neat and clean, look how white is hat is and he had a garbage bag full of cans already.

I can't say I've never dumpster dived. Once in a hurry to straighten up before going to work I inadvertently threw a bag with two boxes of new contacts in the dumpster. But I retrieved them with a chair and a long broom handle. I hope there is never a reason I would have to climb all the way in.

Cathy's Extra's

Recently I attended a gem show that comes here once a year. It's not very large and they mostly sell gems.

This year I was surprised when I came across a booth with brass stampings and filigree! If you've visited my store you'll see I use a lot of brass. I had to contain myself and breath because it's so easy to lose yourself and spend a lot of money.

Cathy had so many beautiful stampings, charms and findings. She had items with a blue or green patina and those are my favorite. Also she had fabulous jewelry made from everything that she has to sell.

I have a few of the pieces I purchased pictured along with the jewelry I've made so far. A filigree bracelet with Turquoise accent stones,a cuff made from the picture stamping of a Heron, and a filigree ring with pearl dangles.

The best part of the experience was meeting Cathy. With a booth full of people she found time to ask me several times if she could help me ,she found the items I'd seen in her pieces but couldn't find. Her customer service was excellent! Sweet and helpful!

The HairStylist Perfect Gift

Christmas is coming! One of many good reasons to shop early for your beloved Hair Stylist.

Although a random" just because gift" will go far also! Trust me... I'm a Hair Artist myself and I love when my clients surprise me with gifts!

I've added and will keep adding unusual Gypsy style jewelry for the Hair Artist and Nail Tech to my stores.

Right now my focus is charm style necklaces, but I do have business card holders and cigarette ID cases. I will be adding rings and maybe bangles as soon as my imagination gets pumped up and running!

Combs, brushes, blow dryers, mirrors and shears along with rhinestones and crystals will adorn the jewelry.

If you see something you like grab it up whether it's for a gift or for yourself, the styles will change although the concept will be the same.

HairStylists Rock!

Check out both of my stores for different styles!

Truly Honored

Last week we had a new stylist start working at the salon. His name is Dan and he moved into the vacant station next to me. I was having a conversation with my client about my jewelry and Dan asked me if I every used old jewelry.

He then told us that his mom passed away when he was 11 in 1970. He said he was given his moms jewelry box. He said he tried to give it to his aunt but she didn't really wear jewelry. He's kept it on his dresser ever since.

When I came to work on Friday a big bag of goodies was waiting for me on my station. I am so honored that Dan would give me his moms jewelry that he has had for 40 years after only knowing me for 4 days.

I've made a few rings with some of the broken pieces, but some of the pieces are so pretty I'm not sure if I want to reassemble them. I also think it's something about knowing the history of the jewelry that makes me want to keep the pieces as they are and on my dresser for 40 years.

In any case, I really feel special, and here's a few of my favorite pieces. A blue and white beaded necklace and bracelet set, turtle and frog pins, and a pair of creamy bead pearl earrings.

Thanks for letting me share,Until next time,Peace and Love-The Gypsy.
